Iran, Russia discuss cooperation on int’l information security (IRNA)

Najafi, who is also the Iranian foreign ministry’s director general for international peace and security, has taken an official visit to Russia to discuss mutual cooperation with the senior Russian officials.

During the meeting in the Russia capital on Friday, the senior Iranian and Russian diplomats discussed mutual and international cooperation based on the Iran-Russia intelligence cooperation agreement.

The agreement was signed by the two countries’ foreign ministers in Moscow last winter. In the UN information security group, Iran and Russia have common positions and close cooperation.

Specific areas of cooperation between the two countries under this agreement include strengthening information security, fight against committed crimes using information and communication technology, technical and technology assistance, international cooperation, including identifying, coordinating and conducting the necessary cooperation in international and regional assemblies to ensure national and international security.
