Italy/Soil Erosion – Soil erosion: addressing the hazard through Copernicus data and tools (CMCC)

CMCC writes: Water-induced soil erosion happens when soil becomes detached and is then transported and deposited due to rainfall, runoff, snow melting or irrigation. When the soil erosion rate is higher than the soil formation rate, the soil becomes depleted and the potential for the land to be used productively is reduced.
